His work focuses on ecosystem restoration, desertification, drought land degradation assessment, natural resource mapping, precision agriculture and numerical modelling for water science applications. Amit has led numerous high-impact projects, collaborating with esteemed organizations such as ISRO, FSI, GIZ, UNDP, IUCN, UNESCO-IHE, Biodiversity Board, MPCoST, FES, Police Department, DST and ICCA. He is an accomplished educator and frequently delivers lectures, talks and serves as a resource person for various workshops and training programs on geospatial science and environmental sustainability. He has received several awards for his contributions to science, including two-time fellowship from the Netherlands government, and has published numerous research papers in reputed journals, and resource atlases. He is also associated as resource person in the activities of the NCSTC division, Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India for more than six years.
